At Her Majesty's Royal Winnipeg Ballet Given A Well - deserved Ovation 30 a Ballet Premier by Aronld Spohr to Mendelssohn's piano concerto in G minor . The company has danced here several times in the last few years and each time it appears it seems to have grown a little in artistic stature , developed greater confidence and became more pro fessionally mature . Flushed with the diplomatic and artistic success of its first appearance in the United States at Washington last week - an event deemed sufficient ly important for the New York Times and Herald Tribune to send their top ballet critics to cover it the company danced with a sparkle and finesse that brought A series of ovations from the meagre but enthusiastic audience . * * ** THE reception was especially CARLU CARTER well deserved , for the com pany seemed to have chosen its the high standard of this gallant first two ballets with a praise - ittle company that these two bal worthy determination to present lets held the attention of the itself on its own merits without audience from start to finish and benefit of stage trappings or evoked not only applause but familiar traditional choreography.cheers Both " Ballet Premier ” and “ In- Jean Stoneham , Eva von Gencsy , at appropriate moments . termede " are severely classical and Mr. Spohr and a abstract and both are the work danced group of six of Arnold Spohr , the company's while Miss Storeham and " Intermede " beautifully , Mr. leading male dancer who , as choreographer , is still in the ex Spohr , together with Carlu Carter , perimental stage .
