The 18 - minute film will be shown at the Osborne theatre , start ing Monday . The scene above is one of the " shots " of the film . Carlu Carter portrays the young wife of the pioneer settler , a role danced by Gor don Wales . Costumes were executed by Stuart Mackay and sets by George Ayotte from original sketches by John Gra ham . Produced by the N.F.B. , Roger Blais directed the film , assisted by William Davidson . Denis Gillson was director of photography ; Joseph Cham pagne , was sound director , and editor was Victor Jobin . The ballet was filmed in two days , in the Armoury in Hull , Que bec . It is expected that there will be showings of the film in major cities over the North American continent , and the film will also be entered in festivals in Europe next sum mer .
