Dept. of Humunities Medicine Hat College 299 College Drive Medicine Hat Alberta December 6 1984 Dear Professor Collier , Please excuse my writing to you at your home address , but I don't know your Department at the University and Dick Foose , Dance Consultant for Alberta Culture , some time ago gave me your home and office phone numbers . I am writing to you at Dick Foose's suggestion , as I am anxious to know whether your earlier interest in the possibility of my giving interested groups at the Universities of Toronto , York and Waterloo , talks / seminars on Maud Allan , can be developed for some time next term . One reason for my enquiry is that , should there be interest still , I would like to so advise interested parties in New York because of course , once I am in Toronto and area , åt would be foolish not to add to my itinerary a flying visit to New York . When I mentioned your original interest , as expressed to Dick Foose , to my New York contacts , the immediate reaction was that they would like me to come down there . It seems to me therefore only reasonable to drop you this line so that , possibly , something more definite can be established by the end of January for example . I might comment that I am equipped and able to deal with the topic of Maud Allan either as a seminar or as a straightforward lecture . I could discuss , for example , the probable and various origins of her particular " art , " lecture about her variegated career , or talk about her as an individual . The one thing I cannot and will not do is to attempt to illustrate her " art " - for the simple reason that I am two metres tall and therefore lack her " grace " and / or other artistic qualities !! I lecture well . Who couldn't , with the material I have ?
