As from Dept. of English Keyano College 8115 Franklin Ave. , Fort McMurray Alberta T9H 2H7 August 29 1990 Tel : ( 403 ) 791 4800 clifford Collier Dance in Canada Suite 403 322 King Street West Toronto Ontario M5V 1J2 Dear Clifford , I have just been in contact with Canada Councii , Arts Award Service , ( Mark Rutherford , Dance Division ) with reference to my applying for a Grant B to help me revise and prepare for publication Did She Dance ? My enquiry seems to have been well met . The deadline for applications is October 1 , and I suddenly realize that Jo Anne Kellock has just left for London and will only be back by September 25 , which leaves little time for what I request of you . I understand Jo Anne has mentionned that I wish to apply for an Arts Grant B from the Canada Council . I also understand that she has asked for a Letter of Intent to publish with reference to my application . Would you please send me , at your earliest convenience and to the above address , such a Letter of Intent , so that I may prepare my application . If I were remaining in Edmonton , I I would not need to make this request as I could easily contact Joanne , but as it is , mail to Fort McMurray from here can take a week , believe it or not . I need such a letter , too , for another reason . I will ask the two ( anonymous ) SSHRCC appraisers of the original typescript to write letters to Canada Council supporting my application . However , since at this stage of the game both are anonymous to me , Denise LaChance of the relevant SSHRCC section is seeking , on my behalf , their willingness to do so . Furthermore , since one of these individuals has agreed in principle to contribute a summarising essay , a Letter of Intent might change that principle into a commitment · and remove the anonymity , to boot .
