I also notice that the " Conversation with the Artist " in Budapest is set out exactly as in my original text . There is no need for this , at all . This particular item was typed out for me some years ago in Medicine Hat , and because it is typo proof , I have simply xeroxed it . For some unknown reason the typist used very wide margins of course . Normal margins are in order . I take it that a pressed button will set out the interview within normal margins . This was ncommented to the CFH by to the wa rescenes Would it be possible to italicize ( or at least use a distinctive type ) for the tour director's letters in this text , so as to differentiate between what ( a ) I provide by way of commentary ( b ) the newspaper reviews have to say ? and what the Tour director writes ? In the section reproducing the complete account this would not be necessary ( although personally I think it might be helpful ) but in the present material I think it essential . After all , anyone using a laser disc for research purposes appreciates every possible aid to keep track of the material on the screen , so as to avoid as best as possible that awful feeling of ' being lost . ' anem This may be a minor point , but the absence of any underlining is a serious blemish , and would very probably result in complaints about and even , perhaps , return of the disc . When you give a copy of the completed package to a proofreader , please include in your instructions particular attention to set - up - format - CONSISTENT indentation policies and such like . From personal experience I know how irritating shortcomings of this kind can be , although I am the first to admit that in my own work I have been less than faultless in this regard . That's what a proof reader is for ! Finally , I fail to see the point or merit of removing all but one reference to The Salome Dancer text , not because I want to use this disc as a sales tool , but because the biography is an obvious source of further reference . A scholar who uses this disc but hasn't read the biography would scarcely be worth his salt , and therefore an occasional reference to the biography seems advisable as well as natural . This disc is , after all , a spill over from earlier research , so why not include occasional mention , as relevant , to The Salome Dancer ? The two works go hand in hand , especially for so peculiar , so personal a performer as Maud Allan and to ignore - or deny- this serves no purpose .. Be sure to read the Globe and Mail on July 20 , when The Salome Dancer should be reviewed ! As regards inconsistent spellings , why not simply follow The Salome Dancer ?
