Project Description : Did She Dance ? is a collection of hitherto unknown reviews , interviews , correspondence , personal recollections and commentaries related to the Canadian born dancer Maud Allan ( 1873-1956 ) and drawn from all five continents . It is intimately related to The Salome Dancer , my biography of this unusual woman , to be published this Spring by McClelland and Stewart . It elaborates upon Maud Allan's critical reception during her colorful stage career ( 1903-36 ) and brings into ever clearer focus her extraordinary individuality , both as an artist and as a very private person . For these reasons Did She Dance ? may well prove to attract a wider readership than laser disk publication usually provides or is designed for . 3 3.
