Page 1 Fw : Letters , etc. To : talk @ dcd.ca From : Felix Cherniavsky < fenba@compusmart.ab.ca > Date : Fri , 08 Feb 2002 13:26:05 -0700 Subject : Fw : Letters , etc. Lawrence ! I keep forgetting to email you , but the email below prompts me at last . I really don't know if you are interested in Ginny's message , but since she will be sending you a copy of her book , her comments re . the Durrants seem an appropriate supplement . I hope Maud is en route to her by now ! Would you please send , with author's compliments , a copy of Maud to each of the following : McGill ; Toronto ( University or Library ? ] Carleton ; UBC ; Manitoba ; Queens ; Calgary ; U. of Montreal [ Why not ? It suirely is amongst the Libraries sampled ? ] and TWO copies to me ( one of which I'll donate to the U of A If to your knowledge any of these have copies , please advise ! This list should boost my CanCopy cheque - for next year , so long as they are catalogued by May 1 , but I will settle before then .. Have you read ' The Book ' yet ? UBC has catalogued it with the Special Collection but , what is really worse , gave SINGERS as its topic ! So much for a story quite intimately related to Vancouver ! I have sent another copy to the Music Librarian , just to set the record straight . My friend Barb North is going to Kiev on College business next week , and will meet a former student of the Magasiner Professor of Violin - believe it or not ! Then she returns via London , where she will stay with the Professor's Magasiner great nephew . of the entire Magasiner family , only he and his sister and 3 offspring ( in Toronto ) exist today , so he's anxious to pick up whatever ties he can . If it were not for health problems he would have flown to Kiev to meet this former student ! Quite a story ? I am glad you are struck by the research material I sent you . May it enrich your archives ! And may the clock keep time ! Regards , Felix . . Shall I make a copy for your files of the Theo letter I > have selected ? > I have ordered some copies of Sympathy from Greenwood , as I don't > have any extras here . I'll be happy to send one to Lawrence Adams . I'm actually glad -- may have told you this -- that I didn't have > these letters while I was writing the manuscript . I needed a " villain " > and I didn't want it to be Theo . Mamma seemed a likely candidate , and I > still blame her for much of this . But she didn't do it on purpose , and > my feelings about her have been very much tempered by these letters . Printed For : " Dance Collection Danse " < talk@dcd.ca > >
