903 484-6430 May 13 , 1998 Dear Felix , We have examined the Agreement from High Road and what this appears to be is an Option for your services as a Consultant to the films ( Productions ) . This is normal procedure in film production - securing people , expertise , and rights for the production . They need this to raise money for the films . In Paragraph 4 : You should only grant High Road the rights to your MANUSCRIPTS , not the BOOKS . The reason being that you do not own the newspaper quotes , or photographic images ( some are in the public domain ) . But the Manuscripts for both The Salome Dancer and MA and Her Art are yours and you may do as you wish with them . For instance , Dance Collection Danse has licence with you to PUBLISH your Manuscript - MA and Her Art , but only in published book form . You can use the Manuscript for other purposes as long as its not in a book . Paragraph 5 : The MATERIAL ... You do not hold any rights to newspaper clippings , photographs , the Tour Director's letters , etc. Therefore you cannot grant any rights to the use of these items . The items which you deposited with Dance Collection Danse Archives are the property of the Archives and you cannot grant rights to these items either . If High Road wants to access items in the Archives then they will have to speak to us . It appears to us that High Road is asking you to give them " exclusive right " to the manuscripts . This may limit your ability to re - publish the Salome Dancer or publish the Theor manuscript , for instance . This should be checked . I think this raises a few points for discussion . We will talk . Best ... Lawrence PS They should spell ALLAN correctly .
