Ace MR F CHERNIAVSKY , 09:20 PM 3/26/98 Frontispiece Return - Path : < fenba@y-wave.com > X - Sender : fenba @ mail.v-wave.com To : dancecol@mail.web.net From : " MR F CHERNIAVSKY " < fenba@y-wave.com > Subject : Frontispiece Date : Thu , 26 Mar 1998 21:20:04 -0700 Leafing through my current text I notice that on p . 154 + - " Cover Photograph from a pamphlet " Maud Allan and Her Art , " circa 1909 . I would think THIS astonishing , eye catching photo would be best and most appropriate , too , as a ' dust cover ' picture . Its imperfect condition reflects so well decadence but at the same time makes one wonder who WAS this woman ? It is , also , totally unknown and , if this point is relevant , establishes that there was such a publication as " Maud Allan and her Art " in 1908/9 I really think you should consider using it as frontisd [ piece . What have you in mind ? I certainly hope not ( and greatly doubt ) the Jan 1 1956 photo ! Just by way of warning , I realize that the picture from my brother is the same as or at least very similar to that on p.140 " Programme cover for " Music Made Visible . " The one radical difference is the personal inscription . Use as you see fit , of course , and add to the Collection . Dzintaa
