The dance is supposed to take place at night and to have to do with " soul sacrifice " and things of that sort , Salome being understood to habe overcome with remorse .... the dance was an extremely contorious effort . Still another Salome Dance will be offered next week by Eva Tanguay at the Williams Theatre . Oct 14 1908 p.9 : 2 No Salome for Pittsburg Director of Public Safety Lang shocked by Miss Blanche Deyo . He paid for a box and asserts he made arrangem ents to be admitted to the stage at any time so as to bring down the curtain . Miss Deyo had reached that place where she produces the head of the Baptist , when Lang sprang from his seat and rushed to the stage door . It was locked . He hammered with both fists but to no avai ;. He tried to break down the door . He then hurried to the front of the house and shouted to a manager : " You have defied me to - night . Wait until to - morrow " The dance was concluded . " It is outrageous " he said " It will not be repeated in this city : # 1 Oct.15 p.1 : 3 " Salome " in a long skirt In tears and in tights , also with a skirt to that came down to her ankles , Blanche Deyo did her dance of Salome . The police insisted on more cloth ing than last night .
