June 1 p.1 ; 4 Dancer warned off stage Miss Maud Allan , the barefooted and otherwise scantily clad dancer , in whose favor a very profitable boom has been worked up in London , and whose manager is anxious to give New Yorkers a chance of witnessing her Salome and other dances , has been warned off the stage in Manchester , the most important theatrical city outside London itself . Miss Allan was booked for a series of perform ances at the Manchester Palace of Varieties , but as a result of a recent communicarion from the authorities , her manager has decided to cancel her engagement . The Manchester authorities consider Miss Allan's entertainment open to exactly the sam objections as those of the living statue . Miss Allan's manager asserts that the fact of her having danced befor the King and Queen at the party give by Lord and Lady Derby is a sufficient answer to what he calls the Manchester prudes , but he omits to mention that on the occasion in question , that took place the other evening , Miss Allan did not give her Salome dance , which is the only one in her repetoire possessing a very special attraction for her habitual audience . e Burro naventad 1905 Ialome is the king July 2 2 p.7 : 2 Genee dances for the King [ Adeline ] Isadora Duncan , who claims to be the priginator of the present revival of clasic dances , appeared tonight at the Duke of York and w was weal received . The performance was not only strikingly different from Miss Hoffman's ( still on stage ) Cat Hammerstein's ) but the dance itself is of a different order .
