" This was followed in sharp contrast by two numbers on Eeethoven's " Contre Tanze , ' in which the various emotions which seemed proper to the theme were strikingly por trayed . Her dancing , with its grace and & refinement , was greatly pleasing to the audience , who recalled Miss Allan again s and again , and as an encore a dancer's idea of the inner meaning of Schubert's " Moment Musicale " in Flat , which proved a beautiful represen ttation . Later in the programme Miss Allan danced to the music of Sibelius's 1 weird “ Valse Triste , " in which she adopted the interpretation put upon this num ber by Mrs. Rosa Newmarch - of the ; dying inother lying on lier couch , lear ing the strains of music , and rising to dance again in the spirit of her youth , falling dead in the terrible climax . Her second number was a reading of Grieg's “ Norwegian Dance No. 1 , ” and bere again her dancing excited great admira tion . In " The Vision of Salomo " she made her final appearince , and was re called six or eigh : times by the delighted audience . Besides providing inuch of the deliglitful music for the dances , the Cherniavgkys united in a striking intor pretation of Mendelssohn's trio . No. 2 in C Minor . ” Though the opening movement was somewhat marred by exaggerated expression , the slow move . ment received beautifully suave and re tined treatment , while the finale marked by fine vigour . Mr. Leo Cher niavsky gave as violin solos the “ Ave Maria Wilhelmj , and Wieniawsk , ' s " Polonaise in A Minor . ” The later itein was brilliantly playell , and was followed by a double encore .
