MAUD ALLAN Solo Dancer HOLLYWOOD BOWL FRIDAY EVENING AUGUST 20 , 1926 It is a fortunate circumstance that brings the world's favorite dancer , Maud Allan , back to California this summer , to the home of her girlhood days , to familiar scenes and friendly faces , to those who will ever delight ind revel in her great art , and who will have the opportunity to witness gain her beautiful , natural dancing without a trace of artificiality or fectation , entirely free from self - conscious pose and so charming withal . iss Allan's dancing is so utterly lovely in its simplicity and grace . With dy lightly clad and entirely unshackeled , she expresses the true soul of nusic through the depth of her poetic imagination . In describing her method of dancing , Miss Allan says , " Dancing to me is the spontaneous expression of the spiritual state . When I hear beau tiful music the emotions that are created within me are what I try to visualize for my audience through posturing and movements of the body . " Miss Allan has danced in the Orient , South Africa , Egypt , Algiers , South America , Australia , New Zealand , Tasmania , Russia and all of Europe , as well as in all the important cities on the American continent . In the fall , she leaves for another world tour . The Hollywood Bowl Association is , indeed , happy to have this great artist as honor guest on Friday evening , August 20 , when she will dance the " Pathetique Symphony , " by Tschaikowsky , and Strauss ' " Blue Danube Waltz , " accompanied by the complete Bowl Orchestra , under the direction of Alfred Hertz .
