910 Feb Cincinnati Commercial Tribune Feb. 13 1910 Sect . 1 p.6 . E Thdre is travelling with Miss Allan , the dancer , on her journey throughout the country , a young English woman , Edvagher of the founder of Cap fore . Opera Violet Carla Rosa / by name , the daughter of the late distinguished 9 violinist and conductor Carl Rosa FF GILBERT AND SULLI VAN CO ? ] and the stepdaughter of Parepa Rosa , both of whom were known to music lovers several decades agor Miss Rosa was in Music Hall Friday evening with Miss Allan , and was much interested in the Cincinnati Symphony orchestra and it its director , Leopold Stokowski . After the playing of the prelude to the third act of Lohengrin , when the audi ence made the dome of the Music Hall f irly ring with its applause until Mr. Stokowski repeated the Prelude Miss Rosa expressed much surprise at the attainments of the orchestra , considering th short period of its existence , and prophesied a brilliant future for it . She expressed the utmost admiration for Mr. Stokowski's work with the band , and redicted that some day hw qould be a very great man and rank with the most eminent conductors of the SAX day ; Miss Allan also declared that the Cincinnatti Symphony Orchestra had plaed her accompaniments in a far more satisfactory manner than any other organisation that had accompanied her . Both Miss Allan and Miss Rosa are musicians theoretically and practically , and have had wide experience in hearing both indi vi dual artists and many symphony orchestras . Consequently their words of commendation carry much weight.z
