1910 Paulorume Philadelphia Times February 10. 1910 Excerpt : Much might be said of the power of the pantomime shown Miss Allan . bormance She tells a story with every dance . It is not merely rhythmical steps set to music , but is a pantomime opera . With lithe , free grace , running lightly about the stage , or Perform sinking into low postures expressive of deeper emotions , ns11 she follows out a consecutive story as told by the music . In the Dance of the Gnomes , one felt her looking for the little brown people ; felt her half calling , half repelling them ; saw in her a strange creature of the woods , witchlike , flitting out mongst the bosky shadows of the trees./ Tragedy is perhaps Miss Allan's forte in these dances . Entered Maud Allan was presented under the local direction of Max Rubinoff .
