Maud Allan , Classic Dancet . MAUD ALLAN NOT IN N. Y. Will Not Appear at Manhattan Con cert as Announced . MAUD AMAN February 4 , 1910 . Editor Morning Telegraph , New York : Dear Sir - I saw in this morning's pa pers for the first time that Miss Allan is announced to appear at the Manhattan Opera House on Monday afternoon , February 7 , for the benefit of the Paris sufferers . This is a mistake . Miss Allan is booked in Milwaukee for that date . Wnen Mary Garden called on Miss Allan last Saturday in reference to the above she was informed that it would be im possible for Miss Allan to appear . I told Mr. J. B. Martin , of the Cafe Martin , that if a benefit for the Paris sufferers was to be given at any time when Miss Allan was free , she would gladly give her services and also defray every expense attached to the same . I wish you would be good enough to rectify this error , as it might lead the public to believe that Viss Allan was disappointing them at the last minute , whereas there was no such intention .
