Francisco CH LUNICI Tuesday January 25 , 1910 DANCER WOULD BE Maud Allan Is SEEN IN THIS CITY | Anxious to Be Here Once More Writes a Request to Appear With Russian Symphony Orchestra . M ISS MAUD ALLAN , or as she for merly was known here , Miss Maud Durrant , the dancer whose performances have delighted Europe from royalty downward , wishes to ap pear in her native city . Yesterday will Greenbaum , the local Impresario , re ceiver a letter from Miss Allan , who Is at present in New York , expressing her wish to come to San Francisco with the Russian Symphony Orchestra , which , it will remembered , W2.8 seen here with the Ben Greet players 8 year eso . " I shall writo Miss . Allan , " Green baum said , " that as I shall have Wal ter Damrosch and his orchestra here in April I shall not be able to make the arrangement for the Russian Sym phony Orchestra , but if she will come hersell I shall be glad to arrange for a programme for her in May . " Not since after the tragedy involving her brother , Theodore Durrant , has Misa Allan been in her native city . After she was sent to Europe by a friend who took an interest in hex , she studied to become an opera singer , but was not successful . Then she took up posture dancing and became a sen , sation . Her " Salome and other dances were talked about over two continents . In England she has danced before King Edward and Queen Alexandra . Returning to Germany , where she had first appeared , she gave more exhibitions and then went to St. Petersburg , where she appeared at the Conservator ium .
