# 3 Digast undan Menino Jan 13/07 News Buffet Dance Dance is a fertile topic for debate in Budapest these days on the occasion of two world famous women dancers performing here at the same time . One is the Miss Cleo de Medore whose hairdo , which she displays , is more famous than her dancing , and there is even more talk about her ears , which she covers up . The other famous guest is the American [ sic ] . Miss Maud Allen that travels about the world with even grander pretentions . She doesn't just promote herself as an artist , but as a reformer , revolutionary and apostle . She says , she has brought a new language to the aesthetic ; a language of dance that is in no way inferior in its expressive ability to any other language . There has already appeared a dancer before her in Budapest who was an apostle on this teachine ( style ) . She too was kerican : Yiss Isadora Duncan . Both of these women promote themselves as classical dancers and strenghten ( support ) the idea that a steely , skilful , pliable and nimble physical motion can portray ( express ) everything , just as a book explains , or a play presents . It narrates , presents , indeed explains . Miss Duncan danced in the ancient Greek terpsichorean fashion , whereas Miss Allen is a ( n ) pioneer ( originator of a new dance style that expresses dramatic complexities with rhythmically adept and precise movements of the feet ( legs ) . We don't wish to oppose this new point of view ( of dance ) . Certainly , dance has suegestive capabilities in such a way as music . It ( music ? dance ? ) even suitably characterizes the sorrowful temperament of a nation . It is also likely that as the art of dance develops , it will in crease in its ability to portray greater content and a more extensive range ( of expression ) . Doubtless , however that dance itself cannot be but graceful , charming and light move ments . [ That is , dance is but physical motion . ] to alter its essence by attempting to overstep its expressive abilities
