Dancer Received With Great Enthusiasm by Big Audience in Ye Liberty Theatre . SF Xominen N EVER before has an artist appearing before an Oakland assembly re ceived such an ovation as was given Maud Allan at Ye Liberty Play house in that city last night . So enthusiastic was the appreciation of her remarkable interpretation of music and her translation of it to zrace ful motion that she was compelled to repeat several of her numbers and to ve two additional The " Dance of the Gnomes " from the Peer Gynt Suit and the Valse Caprice " by Rubinstein , were the two that won her the greatest applause . The latter closed the programme , but was so enthusiastically appreciated that she gave an futerpretation of Strauss ' " Blue Danube " as an encore . The Liberty playhouse was filled to overdowing with the most repre sentative audience that has ever assembled for an artist's performance in the city The first three numbers , Chopin's " Valse . A miuor , " " Mazurka , G sharp minor " and the Mazurka , B flat " soon won the hearts of what was at Orst a rather skeptical assemblage and when Mies Allan gave the fourtlı number of the first section . Siendelssohn's " Spring Song , " she was greeted with prolonged applause , which was only stlenced by the repetition of a part of The Peer Gynt " suit by Grieg , " Morning , " " Asa's Death , " " Anitra's Dance and the Dance of the Gnomes , especially the latter , proved the best feature of Miss Allan's work during the evening andere probably more highly appreciated by the assembly . She was recalled several times after each appearance and repeated the latter two . The applause which followed her rendition of " Valse Caprice , the closing number was so Insistent that she gave " The Blue Danube " in a manner that tron for her the last cynical henre . The audience refused to leave its seats until she had given one more dainty , alry dance which exhibited her wonderful command of her graceful body and lier artist's understanding of musie . Schubert's " Serenade . Huldi gung's March , by Wagner , and Rubinstein's " Samenol Ostrow , were given by the orchestra under Paul Steindort . The overture was " Mignon " and throughout the performance the music was heartily appreciated .
