? c / o The Philharmonic Symphony Society 113 West 57th Street New York City June 29th 1940 . Dear Miss Allan , I was so very sorry too that circumstances prevented my meeting you last Autumn before I returned to New York . As you rightly guessed , I had to leave very suddenly 5 weeks sooner than I had originally planned and I had no moment to come and see yad before going . I was delighted that you gave Tami Brosa your score of the Debussy work to bring over for me to see , as I was most anxious to study it . Now , I have started on reading scores and making programmes for my next New York season and I shall look forwrd to examining the Debussy carefully . Naturally at present my programmes are not fixed and I have many new works to read and soloists to consider before I can finish making them . So this is just a brief word to let you know that your music is in my care safely , and to thank you so very much for letting me have it to peruse . You can be sure that it will be treated with the greatest care , and I do so much appreciate your entrusting it to me for a time . I shall be writing to you later on , and meanwhile all very best wishes and kind regards , Sie Sincerely yours , hind Whe SA John Barbirolli .
