f Maud Allan Dies ; ; Noted as Dancer Miss Maud Allan , who had danced in glory before most of the world's royalty , died in obscurity yesterday at a rest home at 2030 Lincoln Park avenue . At the peak of her fame , critics ranked her dancing with that of Pavlova and Isadora Duncan . Although Miss Allan kept her exact age a secret , she was believed to be about 81 . She was born in Toronto , Canada , but her parents , both physicians , brought her so California while she was still a child . Miss Allan's first ambition was to be a pianist but after studying music in San Fran cisco , Berlin and Vienna , she turned her talents to danc ing . FAMED IN 1908 She danced before King Edward VII of Great Britain in 1907 and attained fame iry MAUDE ALLAN 1908 with her then contro- at 2:30 p . m . tomorrow in versial interpretation of the the Pierce Brothers . Serious injuries suffered in an automobile crash in Pasadena in 1938 definitely ended her dancing days . However , she returned to London and drove an am bulance early in World War II during the German bomb ing attacks . She came to the United States again in 1941 and for a time worked as a draftsman at the Doug . las Aircraft Company in Santa Monica . Services will be conducted of LA Examiner 2
