Eberfeld , 2nd November 1905 on 3 23 yet it a c . --The second Artistic Evening of the Direktion De Gauset 8th November will arouse special interest through the appearance of the dancer Miss Maud Gwendolen Allan . Many people will have heard , from newspapers etc. , of the new dancing , as introduced by Isadora Duncan and which she has attempted to preserve by establishing her dance school at Grunewald in Berlin ; a few will perhaps have had the opportunity to see her A reporter writes : In the opinion of many people Miss Allan exceeds Miss Duncan by far in her power of representation . She is moreover pianist of skill , who originally intended to become professional player . Thus the secret of her artistic performance lies not only in the technique of her impressionistic mime , developed from studying the masterpieces of ancient and modern visual arts . but the main effect stems Irom her great musical understanding . In the Independence Belge " Ch . Tardien writes about the dancer and her art : " Bearing , movement and expression perhaps resembled dance and mime , and was neither dance nor mi me , but rather a type of passionate personal entreaty , animating , shaping and communicating not only the melodic thoughts of the composers , but also the moods conveyed to the audience by these thoughts .
